Musk: Tesla may launch a prototype humanoid robot next year

According to foreign media reports, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said that his company is developing a humanoid robot and will launch a prototype “sometime next year”.
The humanoid robot will take advantage of Tesla’s experience in using automated machines in factories and some of the hardware and software used by the company’s autopilot driver assistance software.
Musk has publicly expressed his concern about the loss of control of artificial intelligence. He said Tesla’s “intention is friendly”. Tesla is designing the robot from the “mechanical level”, so that “you can bypass its disadvantages and probably subdue it”. It will be 5 feet 8 inches (1.8 meters) tall and have a screen as a face.
The company’s website says the robots will be used to deal with “unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks”.
At the end of some day in the future, Mask also showed the robot’s drawings, showing some machine learning and supercomputer technology that the company is studying, aiming at providing support for self driving cars one day. The company also showed a humanoid robot model on stage, but it couldn’t run´╝ł Tencent Technology (reviser / Lexue)
