Dr. Zhou Lidong was promoted to President of Microsoft Research Asia

On July 27, Microsoft announced that Dr. Zhou Lidong, an outstanding chief scientist of Microsoft and former executive vice president of Microsoft Research Asia, was promoted to President of Microsoft Research Asia, fully responsible for the research work of Microsoft Research Asia in Beijing and Shanghai, as well as the cooperation with academic and industrial circles in China and the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Hong Xiaowen will no longer hold the post of president of Microsoft Asia Research Institute and will continue to be responsible for promoting Microsoft’s overall R & D strategic layout and the construction of innovation ecosystem in the Asia Pacific region.
Dr. Hong Xiaowen joined Microsoft in 1995, joined Microsoft Asia Research Institute as vice president in 2004, and was promoted to President of Microsoft Asia Research Institute in 2007. In 2014, Dr. Hong was promoted to senior vice president of Microsoft worldwide, chairman of Microsoft Asia Pacific R & D group and President of Microsoft Asia Research Institute. Dr. Zhou Lidong joined Microsoft in 2002. Previously, he worked as a researcher of Microsoft Silicon Valley Research Institute, chief researcher of system research group of Microsoft Redmond Research Institute and executive vice president of Microsoft Asia Research Institute.
