Harmony OS and hardware! Yu Chengdong also disclosed the progress of P50 by the way

Tencent Technology (SUN Hao) from the proposed to the official release, harmony OS experienced more than two years. At the press conference on June 2, Yu Chengdong announced the official release of harmony OS. This is the first time Huawei has moved this system to the front desk, showing us the changes it has brought so far.
The biggest difference between harmony OS and Android is decentralization
When Yu Chengdong introduced harmonic OS at the scene, he said that it is a system built for the interconnection of everything. It can be used not only on smart phones, but also on tablets, watches, and even sockets.
This may be the biggest difference between harmony OS and Android. In the harmony product concept constructed by Huawei, it is a decentralized system. It does not have to be like Android or IOS. It needs Google or apple as the core to drive all devices to work.
In harmony’s system, all devices based on harmony OS system are independent individuals. They can work independently. At the same time, they can realize network interconnection based on distributed architecture.
Huawei hopes that harmonyos will be open. In principle, all manufacturers and devices can adapt to harmonyos in the future, so as to build a huge ecological network. Such a device doesn’t matter whether it has a screen or no screen. A microwave oven or a humidifier can be a member of the harmonic OS network.
Three major changes brought about by harmonyos on mobile phone
At the launch, Huawei focused on the mobile phone based harmony OS, which has three new changes.
Super terminal module in control center
First of all, the mobile version of harmonyos has three centers, including control center, service center and notification center. The control center and notification center divide the slide status bar in the original Android system into two. The control center includes three modules: broadcast control center, shortcut switch and super terminal, which will have the ability to control most of the basic functions of smart phones; The notification center displays the messages of app and mobile phone; The service center is the negative screen of the original emui system. In the current harmonic OS system, more fast applications form atomic components, which can realize faster operation of corresponding functions without downloading apps.
The second change is the distributed bus. Harmonyos has a distributed bus, which is the biggest difference between it and Android. It is with this technology that harmonyos realizes the concept of “super terminal”. Hongmeng equipment can be combined in quantity, learn from each other to achieve more functions.
Wang Chenglu gave some examples of practical application scenarios at the scene, such as a mobile phone that is playing video. After it forms a super terminal with a smart screen, the smart screen is responsible for video playing, and the mobile phone becomes a remote control to control the smart screen.
Universal card of harmony OS
The third change is that Huawei has added a new universal card function to harmonic OS. By swiping up the icon, you can exhale the universal card. Harmonyos provides a variety of card sizes, including 2×1, 2×2, 2×4, 4X4. Users can personalize the desktop of mobile phone through various card sizes.
All purpose card
In Huawei’s plan, Huawei hopes that the universal card can also be used by third-party apps. Huawei will open the universal card interface and allow app developers to define the display content of the card, such as the shopping app can display the recommended products on the card, and the video app can display the recommended programs on the card.
Distributed technology will play a greater role in the harmony OS system built by Huawei
Huawei said that this kind of distributed technology will become a normal situation in the future for terminals equipped with harmonic OS devices. Not only products can be linked with each other, but third-party apps can also realize end-to-end information flow with the help of harmony’s ecology.
Hardware linkage between Huawei mobile phone and display
Huawei showed the linkage among three groups of different Hongmeng devices at the press conference. The smart phone equipped with harmonyos is linked with the mateview display. The mobile phone is used as the host driver, and the display is used as the PC content display, so that the mobile office can be like a computer; The smart watch and smart phone are linked, so users can view the taxi information in real time without taking out their mobile phone; Matepad Pro is linked with notebook, and tablet can be used as the display extension of notebook.
These are the actual scenarios that Huawei can show us at present. You will find that they are all based on Huawei’s hardware ecology. However, in Huawei’s future goal, harmony OS should be a completely open system, and any hardware and app manufacturer can access to harmony’s network.
Information flow function of harmonic OS
Huawei put forward two concepts at the press conference – “super terminal” and “information flow”. The former is for hardware and the latter is for services. Huawei hopes that more equipment manufacturers will enter the harmony OS System in the future to form a more perfect hardware ecosystem, which is not limited to mobile phones, tablet computers, televisions and other products, such as refrigerators, washing machines, patch panel routers and so on. In this way, the “super terminal” proposed by Huawei can be realized through the combination of two devices and learning from each other.

With the gradual improvement of the hardware network, the software ecosystem of harmonyos can be established rapidly. Huawei did not say at the press conference how many software developers are participating in the development of apps based on harmonyos. However, they have created new front-end entrances for developers in harmony OS, including information flow and universal card. Huawei hopes that these new entrances can drive developers to help Huawei improve harmony ecology.
When can your device be upgraded?
Huawei announced the upgrade plan of harmonyos at the press conference. Huawei mobile phones, tablets and other “100” devices will start the upgrade of harmonyos one after another. Including mate 40 series, mate 30 series, P40 series, mate X2, Nova 8 series, matepad Pro Series and other equipment. Users who want to experience in advance can apply for a taste at pollen club or my Huawei app. They can also sign up for the “harmony OS experience Officer Program” in 66 experience stores across the country.
