First 5g modem solution for industrial Internet of things


On May 21, at the 5g summit of Qualcomm, the company announced the launch of the first dedicated 5g modem solution for the industrial Internet of things – Qualcomm 315. The new scheme has the characteristics of Gigabit performance, low power consumption and efficient heat dissipation, supports independent Networking (SA) mode operation, and can switch to LTE network on demand; At the same time, it supports the deployment of 5g enterprise private network or public 5g network by using network slicing technology or isolation deployment scheme. At the same time, the scheme can also seamlessly integrate the existing Ethernet and wired technology to support longer software and hardware maintenance and support cycle.
The new solution mainly meets the application needs of industries and enterprises, including retail, energy, automation and manufacturing, precision agriculture, construction, mining and public venues. Facing the high-end market, it complements the company’s existing LTE Internet of things product portfolio and lays the foundation for the layout of industrial Internet of things by Qualcomm.
