Gartner predicts global chip supply shortages will continue into the second quarter of 2022

On May 18, Gartner, an information technology research and consulting firm, predicted that the global semiconductor supply shortage will continue throughout 2021 and return to normal levels in the second quarter of 2022.
At the beginning, the equipment with chip supply shortage mainly includes power management, display devices and microcontrollers. These devices are manufactured on the traditional nodes of 8-inch chip foundry, and their supply is limited.
Now, the problem of supply shortage has extended to other equipment, and the supply chain links other than substrate, solder wire, passive components, materials and testing have the problem of capacity limitation and supply shortage. These industries have been highly commercialized, so they hardly have the flexibility / ability to actively invest in a short period of time.
