“Eating and sowing” wastes grain, causing controversy
“King of stomach video” and “eating and broadcasting” are a kind of video forms that have sprung up on the short video platform in recent years. Most of the content shows amazing food consumption and overeating behavior to attract the attention. In order to achieve the video effect, many video creators used fake eating, vomiting and other means, resulting in unnecessary food waste, while promoting unhealthy lifestyle.
Even in extreme cases, minors are allowed to become “food sows” at home, attracting attention with novelty tags such as “three-year-old children weighing more than 70 Jin”.
In August this year, videos such as “big stomach King eating and broadcasting” were named by CCTV. CCTV reported that some “big stomach King eating and broadcasting” were sensational and “misleading consumption and serious waste”.
Subsequently, the network performance (Live) branch of China Performance Industry Association also issued a document requiring all member enterprises to further strengthen the management of live broadcast content, especially focus on the live broadcast with food as the main content, strengthen guidance and establish a correct concept of food consumption, and resolutely prohibit fake eating, vomiting, novelty hunting, eating mostly, excessive drinking and overeating, and others Extravagant live broadcasting.
In addition to the requirements for the live broadcast platform, the network performance (Live) branch of China Performance Industry Association also reminded the vast number of food anchors that it is not advisable to pursue stimulation, excessive entertainment, gain eyeballs, and waste their tongue.
Platform statement, big stomach King transformation
The Kwai tat, jitter, micro-blog, tiktok and other live platforms have made a public response after the beating of the official media and industry associations: for eating and broadcasting, to eliminate food waste, and for serious waste of food, they have been seriously dealt with. For example, Weibo said that it would restrict the videos and live broadcasts that attract traffic by taking too much food and eating too much as a gimmick and using fake food to induce vomiting as a means. It would take measures such as deleting, stopping live broadcast, banning words and closing accounts according to specific conditions.
In twenty-first Century, Kwai noted that at present, “eating and sowing” on the platform of beep, fast hand and shaking voice will bring about tiktok, such as “cherish food, refuse to waste, eat properly, live healthfully”.
At the same time, some online celebrities who have become popular by “eating and broadcasting” have also begun to seek transformation. For example, mizijun, the first person in China to enter the public view through “Dawei Wang video”, has deleted the title of “Dawei Wang” from the microblog name, and the video content has also begun to focus on sharing food and exploring shops. Some anchors quit the platform: a yo you, who once gained high popularity on station B, has deleted all the video content from its home page and will not be updated any more.
Many places have issued restraining orders
After the attention has been paid to the bad value orientation in the content of “eating and broadcasting”, a number of local governments have issued relevant policies to curb the production and dissemination of waste food content on the Internet.
In September of this year, Hebei Province issued regulations to prohibit the production, transmission and dissemination of such extravagant and wasteful behaviors as fake eating, vomiting inducing, eating in large quantities, exaggerating novelty hunting and overeating.
Hefei, Anhui Province, has clearly stipulated that it is forbidden to carry out live broadcast of excessive drinking and eating and other extravagant and wasteful activities on the network platform. The relevant regulations have been implemented on November 1. Haikou City, Hainan Province, has also made it clear that we media on the Internet should not engage in live broadcast of extravagant and wasteful propaganda such as faking food to induce vomiting, exaggerating novelty hunting and overeating. The decision will come into effect on November 30.
At the end of November, Guangdong Province also passed legislation, requiring network audio and video service providers to strengthen the audit of audio and video information, and timely stop the spread of audio and video information involving catering waste. The violation of the regulations will be handled by the competent radio and Television Department and the network and information department according to law.
