JP Morgan, the investment bank, is tracking demand for the iPhone 12 pro, which appears to be higher than the relatively cheap iPhone 12.
In an iPhone availability tracker report, J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee wrote that the overall delivery time for the iPhone 12 is currently slowing or normalizing. He thinks these delivery times based on delivery home may reflect the supply and demand of smart phones.
However, the delivery time of the iPhone 12 Pro remains stable. In the third week of launch, the global arrival time of the iPhone 12 is still around 10 days, while the average arrival time of the iPhone 12 Pro remains around 23 days.
In the United States, iPhone 12 delivery time has been reduced from 11 days in the second week to 8 days in the third week. The delivery time of the iPhone 12 Pro has increased from 24 days in the second week to 26 days in the third week.
For Chinese consumers, the delivery time of the iPhone 12 Pro remained stable, while the delivery time of the iPhone 12 slowed down during the same period. In Germany and the UK, the lead times for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are normal.
Although in the United States, the UK and Germany, the iPhone 12 can be picked up in stores. But analysts at J.P. Morgan said the iPhone 12 Pro is still not available in stores in all the regions it tracks.
Compared with the iPhone 11 in 2019, market demand for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro seems to be on the rise.
In the first week of the iPhone 11 launch, the delivery time hovered around six days, while in the second week, the delivery time rose to 12 days. For the iPhone 12, the first and second week deliveries are 13 days. The iPhone 11 Pro keeps delivery dates around 24 days in the first and second weeks of its launch. For the same period in 2020, the iPhone 12 Pro will be delivered in eight to 24 days.
As chatjee points out in his research report, the success of the iPhone 12 Pro is leading investors to “keenly and optimistically” focus on the iPhone 12 Pro Max bookings that will begin on November 6.
