Samsung Chairman Lee Kin hee died: previously accused of tax evasion and embezzlement of company assets of 11.8 billion won


Sina science and technology news on the morning of October 25, according to Yonhap news, South Korea’s Samsung President Lee Jianxi died at the age of 78.
Earlier, Lee was accused of tax evasion and embezzlement of more than 11.8 billion won (about 10.5 million US dollars) of the company’s assets. These include hiding its equity assets in more than 480 economic accounts in the name of Samsung executives to avoid capital gains tax of 8.5 billion won; and misappropriating about 3.3 billion won of Samsung C & T Corp. to renovate its luxury house in Seoul from 2009 to 2014.
On December 27, 2019, South Korean prosecutors announced a suspension of prosecution against Lee, mainly because of his poor health.
According to the Yonhap news agency on the same day, the prosecution’s decision actually means that they are closing the case against South Korea’s richest man. Li Jianxi has been in bed coma since his heart attack in 2014.
