Mavic air R2 continues the folding structure of Yu series, but its volume and weight are increased compared with the previous generation product.

Point of interest around shooting mobile cars
The point of interest orbit is to orbit the target, and the camera is always shooting towards the target. Compared with interest point surround 2.0, interest point surround 3.0 can identify mobile subjects, including pedestrians, cars, boats, etc.
From the actual experience, when the speed of the locked mobile car is relatively slow, the interest point surround can always be shot around the car. When the speed is slightly faster, the target will be lost when encountering occlusion. This function is more suitable for shooting slow moving objects.
The delay shooting function added to Yu2 series for the first time also has a new playing method on mavic air 2. Mavic air 2 can shoot 4K and 8K resolution mobile delay videos, but the 8K resolution mobile delay video function can only be opened when the retail version is launched, supporting free and track delay functions.
Shooting free delay
Shooting a period of free delay takes about more than 4 minutes, and the overall experience is very smooth. The camera takes 125 consecutive photos to synthesize a delay video. This simple direct output scheme is not only convenient, but also allows UAV video creation to have more forms of expression.
The ability to add the delay shooting function to the UAV really reflects the technical strength of Dajiang. Because to introduce this function to the UAV with shorter dead time, there are very high requirements for the UAV’s flight attitude stability, endurance time and the aircraft’s calculation ability. It’s not as simple as the delay function on other video devices.

Image transmission is a very important aspect of aerial UAV, and stable image transmission is the most basic guarantee of aerial photography. Dajiang launched lightbridge technology in 2014, which can transfer pictures as far as 5km from UAV to mobile screen in real time. In 2016, Dajiang also brought ocusync HD digital image transmission. The maximum remote control image transmission distance can reach 7km, and 1080p images can be previewed in real time.
Support full HD image transmission
Mavic air 2 has also been upgraded to ocusync 2.0 HD image transmission technology. The farthest image transmission distance has been extended to 10km. It supports 2.4ghz/5.8ghz automatic switching and can directly cache Full HD video in flight. The new 5.8GHz channel can keep the stability of the image transmission signal in the busy environment.
Occasional loss of connection
Of course, the 10K is only a theoretical figure. In actual flight, it is likely that there will be no return. From the actual experience, it’s about 3km. The picture transmission has begun to show the video card, and the aircraft will lose contact intermittently. As for the direct cache of Full HD video in flight, it’s still a word, “card”. It’s better to go back to the local cache video honestly.
Substantial increase in endurance
The UAV’s endurance is too short has always been a difficult problem to overcome. This time, mavic air 2 refreshed this number to 34 minutes, far more than the 21 minutes of the previous generation products, even longer than the Yu2 series and mavic pro, which can be said to be the “most lasting” UAV.
On the day of our test flight, it happened that the wind in Beijing was quite strong, the flight height was about 80 meters, and the acceleration process was very smooth. In the actual test, hovering, flying, video recording and photographing are carried out alternately; after 22 minutes, 20% of the electricity is left to start to return automatically, so it is estimated that there should be no problem in normal use for 30 minutes.
Of course, you don’t have to worry about the last few minutes. It’s better to bring an extra battery than anything else.
Conclusion: better shooting, more stable playing
It took two years to update the mavic air, and Dajiang really felt like “squeezing toothpaste”. However, good food is not afraid of late, Mavic Air 2 upgrade is still very awesome. With stronger hardware performance and more intelligent shooting, mavic air 2 can match the flagship Yu2 series. Of course, this is at the expense of a certain degree of portability.
